Are you looking for family fun near Calgary and Okotoks this weekend? I've done some digging, so you don't have to. This weekend, April 10-12, features the return of the fan-favorite Spring Babies Festival, a hilarious kid-centric dinner theatre, and some great local gems in Okotoks.
Check out my top 4 picks for kids below.
The Headliner: Baby Animals!
Event: Spring Babies Festival at Butterfield Acres.
The Draw: Newborn lambs, goats, and piglets. It's the ultimate "first sign of Spring" activity (even if Calgary isn't quite sure what Spring means).
Details: Open Saturday & Sunday (10am - 2pm). Suggest buying tickets in advance! Click here for tickets.
The Showstopper: Musical Minions
Event: Jubilations Junior: Despicable Minionz
The Draw: A 3-course meal served by characters, followed by a live musical parody. It's loud, funny, and built for kids who can't sit still.
Details: Saturday morning show (starts at 11 am). Click here for tickets. The Discovery: Hands-on Science
Event: Spring Break at Telus Spark
The Draw: Beyond the standard exhibits, they have special programming with live demos and hands-on experiments.
Details: Extended weekend hours for families. (Note: Friday evening after 6pm is 18+). Click here for tickets. Local Hidden Gem: Okotoks Creative Play
Event: Kids Yoga & Upstart Art at the McMan Family Resource Network, Okotoks Office
The Draw: FREE programs where kids (aged 4-13) can burn energy or get messy with paint while parents take a 60-minute breather.
Details: Friday afternoon (Art @ 2pm, Yoga @ 230 pm).
That's a wrap on my top picks for April 10-12! I'll be back next Thursday for a full breakdown of upcoming events (Aggie Days & Reptile Expo), so make sure you keep an eye on my Instagram- click here if you're not already following, so you don't miss out on a weekend guide. Enjoy the magic of spring in Calgary and Okotoks.
Thanks for following along!
